So, what's a Lerp?
Lerp is short for “linear interpolation”. In video game development, you sometimes want to “linearly interpolate” or lerp between two values (colors, animation position, audio volume, etc.) by a certain percentage. For instance, if you want a cube to move 50% of the distance between point A and point B, you could use a Lerp function.
